EXTREME UPDATE

So after a year of working on this record label, art project, lifestyle, and experience, I feel exhausted, enlightened, and excited. Holy Page has been quite a journey for me mentally and physically and I feel like I probably should sound off on the whole thing, or at least let anyone who may care about this label know about how I feel as the sole creator and curator of Holy Page.

First and foremost, Holy Page is like a child to me, and I love it unconditionally. While I am proud of all releases, I do admit that some aspects of the label are flawed and I for one accept that. Doing, design, artwork, occasional videos, and promotion for artists is hard work and I am a full time student pursuing a degree. I do this label because I love it, and because the artists on this label deserve attention. Not just from the Internet, or me, but also from the entire world. Art and music go hand in hand to create culture physically, and also help to document the history of world movements, and for this reason I feel very grateful for any impact that this label may have made on any individual. I am also very thankful for friends who have given their energy to help garner any sort of gain for the label; Crash Symbols, Slowest Press, Lava Church, The Trunk Space, Sewer Greats, Wizards of The Ghost, Off Tempo, Nathan Rich, Filardo, Creepy Marbles, Orca Life, Angelo Harmsworth, Virgin Blood, Kranky, Funny World, Tagobella, Stephen Steinbrink, Avocado Goth, and anyone who has supported me in any way at all. Without you people and your support Holy Page could not exist as it does today.

The second thing I need to address is that this label is not a religious label and does not stand for any sort of religion. Use of the world “Holy” is to merely suggest a divine collection of artists and the symbol of the cross is used for its design aesthetics and symbolism of strength. At no point has this label ever revolved around faith or religion of any sort.

Third, it is really hard running this operation with the idea of the majority of music being free, it will remain that way, but note that I pay for the downloads, web hosting, and tape production, with my own time and money. Please don’t email me about me putting a tape out if you have never bought a tape, shirt, zine, or even submitted digitally at all. I pay for production, do promotion, and artwork by myself and there is a system you have to go through before just emailing me and asking me to invest in you. Even if you are John Lennon reincarnate, it’s really hard to back someone who you have no history with. Be my friend before my business partner, our relationship will go a lot farther and be a lot more fun as a result!

On a final note, this label will continue and push on deep into the future. I hope that you will continue to support it, me, and everyone who has contributed in any way to this labels existence, thanks so much for reading this and updates on the one year comp are soon to come.

If you have any questions email me at holypagerecords@gmail.com

I hope you all are well.
